Kansas City fence repair · Since 1995

We fix fences.
It is the only thing we do.

For three decades, Kansas City homeowners have called us first when a post snaps, a gate sags, or a storm takes out a section. We repair what can be saved and replace only what cannot. Family-owned, no subcontractors, and out to look at your fence within a day or two.

The process

How a repair works with us

Most of our work is small, specific, and fast. Here is what happens from the first call to a fence that latches, stands straight, and lasts.

  1. 01

    Tell us what broke

Call or send a note with a couple of photos. We set up a free on-site estimate, usually within a day or two.

  2. 02

    We diagnose it on-site

We walk the whole fence line and check every post, rail, picket, gate, and latch to find what is actually failing.

  3. 03

    You get a repair-first quote

We fix what can be saved and replace only what cannot, so you are not paying to tear out fence that still has years left.

  4. 04

Our own crew does the work

The people who quote your job are the people who show up. No subcontractors, jobs finished on schedule, and the work is warrantied.

What we repair & build

Every kind of fence, back in working order

Repair is our specialty, but we install too. If it is a fence, a gate, or a post, we have handled it across the metro since 1995.

Wood fences

Cedar and treated pine. Rotted or leaning posts reset, cracked rails and pickets swapped, full sections rebuilt to match what you have.

  • Repair
  • Install

Chain link

Sagging mesh re-stretched and retensioned, torn fabric patched, bent top rail straightened, and new runs or gates added where you need them.

  • Repair
  • Install

Steel & ornamental

Bent or rusted ornamental panels straightened and reset, loose posts re-anchored, and damaged sections matched and replaced.

  • Repair
  • Install

Gates & posts

Our most common call. Sagging gates rehung so they latch again, worn hardware swapped, and rotted or frost-heaved posts pulled and reset in concrete.

  • Repair
  • Replace

Vinyl fences

Cracked panels and rails replaced, wind-loosened posts re-secured, and new vinyl runs installed when a repair is not worth it.

  • Repair
  • Install

Painting & power-washing

Weathered wood cleaned, brightened, and sealed. Staining, painting, and power-washing to add years to a fence that is still sound.

  • Refinish

Repair first

Replace only what you have to

A lot of companies would rather tear out your whole fence and sell you a new one. We built our business on the opposite idea. When a windstorm snaps a few posts, we replace those posts and keep the good sections in place. You get a fence that stands straight again without paying for the parts that were never broken.

We keep the crew small and take no subcontractors, so the person who looks at your fence is the person who fixes it. That is how we have kept a 4.9-star name across Johnson County for three decades.

What Kansas City homeowners say

Rated 4.9 out of 5 across 142 Google reviews.

“A windstorm broke 10 4x4 posts of our cedar fence. Jeff’s crew replaced them, retaining the intervening picket sections which were still good, saving us thousands for the replacement that others quoted. The crew was careful of adjacent trees and bushes. Highly recommended!”

They went above and beyond and fixed a couple things separate from the fence replacement, including fixing an old chain link fence that would not latch close, just because they saw it. They were able to complete the replacement all in one day.

His team showed up on time and did an outstanding job rebuilding my fence at a very reasonable price. If you need your fence fixed, and done right the first time, at a reasonable cost, this is your company.

I have used the Fence Repair Company for many years to repair and replace posts on my backyard fence. Prompt response and scheduling, offering options for repair, and very reasonable cost. I would highly recommend them for any fence repair work.

Jeff and his great crew did a great job taking down the old fence and erecting a cedar shadow box fence. And the quoted job was a bit less than planned. I am happy!

About us

A family fence business, kept small on purpose

Mike and Kate Perkins started The Fence Repair Company in 1995. Mike is a Kansas City native and a veteran, and the company has stayed in the family ever since. Today their son Jeff runs the crews, and it is still a small, tight operation by design.

We do not hire subcontractors and we do not chase the biggest jobs. We stay close to home in Johnson County, do honest repair work, back it with a warranty, and answer the phone when you call. Thirty years in, that is still the whole plan.
